The Barmer and Jodhpur district police have busted the inter-state gang involved in stealing luxury cars. The police arrested the culprits and recovered 11 cars worth 2 crores from them. This gang used hi-tech methods to steal the vehicles. The gang used to steal a car as per the colour and company demands of big smugglers, which was then sold by changing its appearance. They used to hack the system of Scorpio cars using ECM devices which is a Chinese software, and start the car to steal it.

The three arrested culprits confessed to stealing 27 cars in the last 1.5 years. The master-mind of the gang, Shravan, after the Scorpio cars were stolen, used to change their appearance so that no one could recognize the cars. Then, the vehicles were sold to smugglers and gangs related to criminals.

In order to nab the culprits, a team of Barmer and Jodhpur police, who also had cyber experts with them, had raided a number of districts for 15 days.
