Shashi Tharoor to inaugurate National Conference of Voice Doctors on Feb 17

Thiruvananthapuram: Lok Sabha member Dr Shashi Tharoor will inaugurate a 3-day National Conference of Voice Doctors at Kovalam Uday Samudra here on February 17.

Over 400 voice specialists from all over India and abroad will participate in the conference as delegates, according to Organizing committee patron Dr Jayakumar, secretary Dr Manju Issac and Treasurer Dr Sabarinath here on Monday.

International faculties from US, UK, Switzerland, Turkey and Egypt will take part in scientific deliberations along with prominent national voice experts like Dr Phaniendrakkumar from Guntur, Dr Jayakumar Menon from Trivandrum, Dr K K Handa from New Delhi, Dr Nupur Nerurkar from Mumbai and Dr Amitabha Roychowdhury from Kolkatta.

Laryngology is the super specialty wing of ENT, dealing with the disorders of the throat, especially the voice box, wind pipe and food pipe. APSI (Association of Phonosurgeons of India) the professional association of Voice box specialists is holding its 22nd national conference in Kovalam.

World renowned magician turned social activist and philanthropist Gopinath Muthukad will be the guest of honour. Shashi Tharoor MP will inaugurate the event at 10.30 am on February 17.
