State delegation to meet PM regarding status of classical language to Marathi: Shinde

Mumbai: Maharashtra State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured in the State Legislative Assembly on Monday that the state delegation will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and request him regarding giving the status of classical language to Marathi language.

NCP Member Chhagan Bhujbal raised the issue of giving the status of classical language to Marathi on the occasion of Marathi Raj Bhasha Gaurav Day.

While making a statement, Mr. Shinde said that keeping in mind the sentiments of all the members of the House, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and the delegation of the state will soon meet the Prime Minister and request them to take action on granting the status of classical language to Marathi at the earliest, added Mr Shinde.
