53.9 percent women aged 15-49 in India use mobiles, least in MP

Madhya Pradesh stands at the last position in the country as far as women using mobile phones is concerned. As per the information given out by the Centre in the Rajya Sabha, 53.9% women in India, who are aged between 15 and 49, use personal mobile phones, while in Madhya Pradesh, this number is only 38.5%, and in Chhattisgarh, just 40.7%. Further, in UP, this share is 46.5%, 48.8% in Gujarat, and 48.9% in Andhra Pradesh, which are the lowest numbers. Out of them, the number of women who use the internet is even lesser.

On the other hand, 91.2% women in Goa use personal mobile phones, followed by 88.6% in Sikkim, 86.6% in Kerala, 84% in Lakshadweep, and 82.8% in Puducherry, which are the highest numbers.

As per NFSH, only 33.3% women in the country have access to the internet.

On the other hand, in what is good news for the country, the Centre has till now, from 2017, given certified training of using the internet and the gadgets related to it, to 4.28 crore people in all, out of whom 2.42 crore are women, which is 56.5% of the total.
