The craze of pre-wedding shoots is increasing among the youth of middle-class families in India. Aspects like music, dance, and film-like sets are involved in the making of the same. The marriage industry in the country is quite big. This year, 30 lakh marriages are expected to take place. As a result, with this trend of creating expensive videos before marriages, the pre-wedding shoot industry of India has now become worth 10 lakh crore rupees.

Such pre-wedding videos have become the new trend of Indian marriages, which include capturing various religious ceremonies, exquisite jewels, dances, and wholesome food, and are gaining immense popularity on social media as well. Romance is showcased in the videos and hefty amounts of money are spent on the choreography. It is the current trend to showcase their ‘cool factor’ by the young couples. Due to which, many a times, many spend more money than their honeymoon on their pre-wedding videos.

Such videos are exciting to watch and fascinate the audience, but the young couples want the videos to be kept away from their relatives. With such videos, the couples want to become the talking point, even if it is for a day. New ideas to create the videos are constantly searched for, so that the audience is attracted to the unique ideas and formats of the videos.

Looking at the trend of pre-wedding shoots gaining stronger ground by the day, a pre-wedding city set has been developed by wedding photographer Rajesh Dembla. On a 7.5 acre plot in Mumbai, he made more than 50 dummies including those of the rivers of Venice and a palace. And now, he is charging up to 82 thousand rupees for shooting for a day, which includes professional makeup artists, attractive costumes, and lighting.

With most of the new couples jumping on the bandwagon of pre-wedding shoots, the pressure of bringing in new ideas for photoshoots and videos has increased on videographers and photographers.
