Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maratha reservation activists said the state government has been given a deadline of 40 days regarding the Maratha reservation and warned that if they do not take a decision within the deadline, we will take a different stand.

Jarange-Patil, who is currently on a Maratha reservation awareness campaign after a historic hunger strike, was speaking at a public meeting held on Tuesday late at night at the Divisional Sports Complex in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

He told the government. He gave an implicit warning that if the government does not take a stand by saying that it will not bother the government for 40 days, then it will have to take a different stand.

He also expressed his firm determination that he would not stop without getting a Maratha reservation.

He expressed his belief that, though Vidarbha is mainly an OBC community, the Marathas here stand firmly behind us.

Some are trying to create conflict between OBCs and Marathas. But they did not forget to say that it would not make any difference.

Jarange Patil had started an indefinite hunger strike for the Maratha reservation which was withdrawn after discussions with the Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde. But his agitation for the Maratha reservation was not withdrawn.

Similarly, Jarange Patil has asked a question to the government. Why were we attacked in Anterwali Sarati village? We said the government has not been able to answer this question.

The battle for the Maratha reservation has been going on for many years.

On August 29, he started this fight once again. Many women also participated in the reservation with the feeling that they did not want a reservation but that it would be useful for their grandson. The movement started in a peaceful way. But we were attacked with sticks. Why was it done? he further asked.

Meanwhile, preparations for the Manoj Jarange Patil meeting to be held at Antarwali Sarati village on October 14 have started, and the preparations for the ground and platform construction for the meeting have picked up pace.

Jarange Patil is going to hold a large meeting at Antarwali Sarati in Jalna district on October 14 to decide his next strategy for the demand for the Maratha reservation.

Preparations are being made by the Maratha community for this huge meeting, and nearly 100 acres of land are being prepared for this meeting.
