IOC completes ‘Swachhta Pakhwada-2024’

Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has announced the successful completion of the ‘Swachhta Pakhwada-2024’ emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and a green environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Gopi, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, elaborated on the objectives of Swachhta Pakhwada, focusing on its role in promoting a sustained movement towards cleanliness and building a clean and healthy nation.

He also stressed the critical need for a green environment, urging the community to adopt eco-friendly practices and highlighting the importance of planting biodiversity-friendly trees to nurture the ecosystem.

The Minister who administered the Swachhta Pledge and distributed saplings to all attendees, including members of the Thiruvananthapuram Tennis Club and IndianOil officials, said the pledge served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.

The Minister distributed hygiene kits to all participating volunteers. These kits included essential personal hygiene products such as sanitizers, face masks, hand wash, and sanitary napkins.

This initiative aimed to promote personal hygiene and ensure the well-being of the volunteers, while highlighting the importance of maintaining hygiene standards in daily life, he added.
