BSF seizes explosives, rocket launchers from Maoist camp in Malkangiri

On Monday, August 7, the Border Security Force (BSF), `raided a Maoist camp in Odisha’s Malkangiri, under the Kalimela Block, in Bodiluguda-Bandamamdi area. During their search operation, the BSF jawans of the 142nd Battalion, seized explosives and rocket launchers from the Vejangiguda Reserve Forest. According to the BSF, after receiving information from reliable sources, it raided the location.

During the search operation, one 303 rifle, 11 barrels, one magazine, 15 improvised hand grenades, one hand grenade with key, 3 native guns, two 51-mm motor bombs, one gas welding machine, 112 drill bits, 42 303 live cartridges, 250 metres of electric wires, one homemade rocket launcher, seven charger clips, one gas regulator nozzle set, 11 iron weights, 29 gelatin sticks, 5 packets of aluminium nitride, 30 electric detonators, and 9 synthetic waist-belts were recovered.

The operations of the BSF are continuing in the Maoist areas of Koraput and Malkangiri.
