The Regional Roundtable on Delivering Democracy is a part of the deliberations and discussions happening as a part of C20 i.e., Civil 20, the official civil society engagement forum of G20. This roundtable is set to gather influential leaders, distinguished scholars, and experienced practitioners from diverse fields across the civil society spectrum from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh, for insightful discussions and the exchange of ideas concerning democratic governance.

The discussion is aimed at providing a remarkable opportunity to delve into strategies, challenges, and best practices in delivering democracy and fortifying democratic institutions, and the deliberations coming out of this discussion will be included in the policy pack of the C20 democracy sub group.

“The Regional Roundtable on Delivering Democracy aims to address critical topics such as increasing voting percentage among new voters and citizen participation in local self-governance”, said Devendra Pai, Course Director of the Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership, which is organising this roundtable.

Prof Dr Ravindra D Kulkarni, Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai, added that these issues play a vital role in strengthening and preserving our democratic values, as well as ensuring active citizen engagement in the democratic process.
