Hubballi: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said the Congress party is like an arch for the entry of dirty political culture.

Commenting on the tweet by former KPCC President and MLA Dinesh Gundurrao saying that ‘Santro Ravi’ is a BJP worker, the CM told reporters here that the Congress is politically bankrupt and Gundurao knows well the kind of people there are in his party.

“I will not stoop to that level. First, the Congress leaders learn to keep their house in order. I don’t have any information about the arrest of Santro Ravi,” he said.

On KPCC President DK Shivakumar announcing free 200 units of power to all households if the Congress comes back to power, Bommai said it shows his frustration.

“The Congress wants to win the election by making false promises. It was unbecoming on the part of the Congress which had governed the state for several years to make such irresponsible statements,” he said.

It would have been acceptable had the same statement been made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as he is a novice to politics, Bommai added.

“When the Congress government failed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for six hours, how can they give free power?”
