Major contribution of media in the development of the state: Shinde

Mumbai” Maharashtra State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde asserted that, Media is the fourth pillar of democracy and has a great contribution in the development of the state.

He was speaking last evening on the occasion of Dainik Loksatta’s Amrit Mahotsava year.

Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narvekar, Industries Minister Uday Samant, MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, Additional Chief Secretary Nitin Karir, Additional Chief Secretary Milind Mhaiskar, Additional Chief Secretary Manisha Mhaiskar, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar,Special Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Senior Officers of various departments, Loksatta Group CEO Anand Goenka, Editor Girish Kuber etc. Dignitaries were present.

Shinde expressing his appreciation for Loksatta maintaining its reputation and credibility for the past 75 year and said the work of bringing forward various organizations that are working well in the state and various activities are being implemented for women and youth through Loksatta Group is a matter of appreciation.

The contribution of media in the development of the state is huge. We have also brought people power in the state. In the last seven months, the state government took many public interest decisions.

The media is doing the work of bringing them to the masses and these media are showing the way for development. At the same time, the media also evaluates the work done by the state government,added Mr Shinde.
