Odisha STF seizes Rs16 lakh fake currency notes

Bhubaneswar: Sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) with the help of Rourkela District Police have arrested an interstate criminal from Rourkela and seized Rs 16.11 lakh Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN), a laptop, and a colour printer from his possession.

STF sources here on Sunday said based on information, STF with the help of Rourkela District Police arrested the accused Sk Ahemmad of Mollarbandh under Badarpur Police station, Delhi on Saturday.

At present, the accused is residing at Qr No. C/231, Sector 17, under Sector-15, Police station in Rourkela.

During the search, FICN of Rs 16,11,000, a Laptop, a Color Printer and other incriminating articles were recovered and seized from his possession.

A case has been registered at Sector 15 Police station of Rourkela on Saturday U/S. 489-A/489-B/489-C/489-D/120(B)IPC. Investigation is on.

Earlier in July -2022 STF seized Fake Indian Currency Note worth Rs 29 lakh and arrested four accused persons.
