Sensex falls over 200 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday slipped 215 points to open at 59,504.14 on profit booking by local operators.

The Nifty too eased 41.60 points at 17,774.65.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 59,799.04 and 59,491.81 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,838.70 and 17,755.85 points respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.13 per cent and Small Cap by 0.15 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 1.85 per cent to Rs 1240.80, Infosys by 0.99 per cent to Rs 1374.60, NTPC by 0.81 per cent to Rs 170.40.

The gainers were Hind Unilever by 2.02 per cent to Rs 2634.85, Dr Reddy’s Lab by 1.14 per cent to Rs 4265.05, Nestle India Ltd by 1.02 per cent to Rs 18,800 and ITC by 0.49 per cent to Rs 337.35.
