Takaichi, Ishiba to face off in runoff for Japan’s ruling party leader

Tokyo: Japan’s Sanae Takaichi and Shigeru Ishiba will face in a runoff in the election of the next head of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, who will also become the next prime minister, the results of the first round showed on Friday.

The 63-year-old Sanae Takaichi will become the first female Prime Minister if she wins the election.
