Washington: The US House of Representatives passed two pieces of legislation to sanction Iran’s Supreme Leader and its missile and drone programs.

The House on Tuesday night voted 410-3 to pass a bill to sanction Iran’s Supreme Leader and his inner circle over alleged human rights abuses and support for terrorism.

In a separate vote, the House passed a bill, 403-8, to indefinitely sanction Iran’s missile and drone programs before UN sanctions on its missile program expire in October.

The two bills now head to the Senate for consideration.
