Washington: The United States is monitoring a large and “unprecedented” Serbian military deployment near Kosovo and calls on Belgrade to withdraw its troops stationed near the border, US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communication John Kirby said on Friday.

“We’re going to be monitoring or we are monitoring a large Serbian military deployment along the border with Kosovo. That includes an unprecedented staging of advanced Serbian artillery and mechanized infantry units. We believe that this is a very destabilizing development,” Kirby told a briefing.

Kirby also called on Serbia to remove their troops from the border.
