Hyderaabad: Hyderabad City police arrested Y S R Telangana Party (YSRTP) President Y S Sharmila when she held a dharna on Tank Bund here on Wednesday in protest against the attacks on women in the state.
Before launching dharna, she paid homage to the idols of Rani Rudrama Devi and Chakali Aillamma on the occasion of International Women’s day.
The dharna caused heavy traffic jams on the Tank Bund and police intervened and arrested Sharmila and shifted her to Bollaram Police station.
Earlier, speaking to the media, the YSRTP Chief alleged that BRS MLC Kavitha was involved in the Delhi liquor scam.
