A three-day international Ramayana Festival is going to be organized in the state of Chhattisgarh, at the Ramlila Maidan in Raigarh, which is the cultural capital of the state, the preparations for which are in full-swing and a lot of excitement can be seen among the people of the state as well. The event will mainly be themed on the Aranya Kand of the Ramayana, and the performance stage has been decorated accordingly.
The Mahotsav will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who will be the chief guest of the event, at 3 PM on June 1, under the chairmanship of Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat. The 3-day event is being organized with the initiative of the CM. The Aranya Kand of the Ramayana will be performed by various national and international troupes, including those from Indonesia and Cambodia.
Further, competitions will also be held between state Ramayana troupes. On the first day, an Aranya Kand themed competition will take place between troupes from Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh. On the second day, a competition will take place between Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, and Chhattisgarh. The winning teams will be awarded at the closing ceremony.
On each of the three days of the event, there will also be group recitation of Shri Hanuman Chalisa by local artists and priests, and Kelo Mahaarti and Deep Daan will also be organized during the closing ceremony. A march past will also be organized, performed by foreign and inter-state artists on the occasion.
