Donors in India double, reduce in the USA

As per a latest report, during the last year, 300 crore people all across the globe made donations to strangers, out of whom, 55% of the donors were youths. 140 crores were such who made the donations to non-profit organizations.

The report reveals that Indonesia bags the first spot when it comes to donations and the number of donors. 8 people out of every 10 make donations there. Indonesia is followed by Kenya, Nigeria, Myanmar and Australia.

On the other hand, Japan stands at the last position when it comes to donations. Here, only 12% people believe in the act of donating. Just above Japan are Portugal, Belgium, Italy and South Korea.

If we talk about India, till 2018, out of 144 nations, India stood at the 124th rank when it came to donations. Only 22% people had made donations then. Today, India has taken a great leap and is now on the 14th position. The percentage of donors has doubled.

On the other hand, till 2018, the USA was ahead in donations but in current times, the number of donors in the country, including other nations like New Zealand and Britain, have fallen drastically.

Looking at the biggest donors of the world in a span of last 100 years, on the first spot is Jamshedji Tata, followed by Bill-Melinda Gates, Henry Wellcome, Howard Hams, Warren Buffet, George Sorrow, Hess Wilsdorf, JK Lilly Sir, John D. Rockefeller, and Edsel Ford.
