More than 500 Indian IT professionals have been held hostage and are being made to work day and night in unknown areas of military-ruled Myanmar, and are tortured if the work is not done. The Indian government tried to rescue them using different means, and as a result, 32 of them have been rescued, and through them, it has been learnt that IT professionals are enticed using the trap of handsome salaries.

In the remote areas of Myanmar where the hostages are kept, there is intervention from not only the mafia but the Chinese army as well. The professionals are being used for digital fraud and the hostages are also being involved in activities related to crypto-currency. An international racket of fraud is being operated from Myanmar, which is dependent on these hostages only, and people all across the globe are being duped from here.

While the Indian government is trying to retrieve information from the government of Myanmar, any piece of information is being received from third parties only, and hefty amounts are being extorted in lieu of releasing the hostages, and the extortion is being made in crypto-currency. The hostages who were rescued informed that they hand established contact with those people after coming across social media advertisements. Such advertisements are posted not only from India, but from Bangkok and Dubai as well. People are called to Thailand after them being offered attractive salaries. Once they reach Thailand, they are taken to the remote and unknown areas of Myanmar from the airport itself. All important documents including their passports are then snatched away.
