Patna: Bihar Assembly on Wednesday witnessed unprecedented pandemonium following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lashing out angrily at BJP members over the issue of hooch tragedy raised by them during pre-lunch sitting forcing 15 minutes adjournment of the lower house on Wednesday.
Kumar was enraged when the BJP members created ruckus in the house and trooped to the well carrying posters over the hooch tragedy and held him responsible for the deaths due to consumption of spurious liquor in the dry state, Bihar.
Pointing towards the BJP MLAs in anger, Kumar even asked them to shut their mouths as they had taken a resolve in support of total prohibition.
The Chief Minister was seen losing his temper on the uproar in the House and went on a rampage with the MLAs of the opposition.
Dubbing the opposition members as drunkards he said that it were they who were instrumental in selling liquor.
He said BJP’s conduct was dirty and would not be tolerated anymore in Bihar.
Kumar said that the BJP was changing its stand and language on the issue and maintained that he gave respect to them but now by shifting their stand they were ruining themselves.
The Chief Minister said that it was BJP on whose request a pledge was taken inside the house not to drink alcohol but now they were demanding compensation when some problem was surfacing.
After expressing his anguish over the issue raised by the BJP including sale of liquor and past midnight hooch tragedy in dry state that claimed several lives in Saran district, the chief minister left the House.
