Many a times, when children cry or behave stubbornly, their parents, in order to silence them, hand them a mobile phone. With this, even though the child is silenced immediately, a number of serious effects of the same have come to the fore. This is a big mistake in relation to bringing children up. As per a report published in Michigan Medicine, handing mobile phones to children to silence them can turn them into patients with mental health issues. With this, they turn irritable and many times, behave violently in challenging times.

Not only does using mobile phones too much reduces their physical activity, with increase in age, their behaviours change as well. Such children are too weak emotionally, and its effects are being witnessed more in boys. As per Michigan Medicine’s study, repeated use of smartphones and tablets to silence children aged between 3 and 5 can lead to emotional dysregulation among boys.

With the increase in screen time, their behavious is turning negative, along with which, their reactions towards challenging behaviours are exacerbating. Not only this, but a kind of laxity sets in in the body, many a times, while the children get highly excited, at other times, their faces highlight sadness and despair. And if such symptoms are noticed, children should not be given smartphones.
