Hamirpur (HP): Union Information-cum-Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur on Sunday evening exhorted the party cadre to introspect the cause of defeat in the last Vidhan Sabha elections and remove the shortcoming in wake of the coming Lok Sabha elections.

While addressing party workers during the two-day residential meeting of Hamirpur Mandal of Bharatiya Janata Party that began on Sunday at the auditorium of Sarvhit Sudhar Sabha today, Thakur discussed the achievements of the Central Government and the various schemes for the general public, women, elders, farmers and youth in the recently released budget. He said that the Central Government has taken care of every section in the budget and there are immense possibilities for the development of all.

In the inaugural session, Anurag while attacking the Congress party strongly said that this party had come to power in Himachal Pradesh by lying to the public.

He said,” In just two months of forming the government in the state, the Congress party has taken a loan of more than three thousand crores”.

According to this, during the tenure of the present Congress government, the state is getting buried under the burden of debt of fifty crore rupees every day. Before the elections, Congress had promised to give Rs 1500-1500 to every woman in the state, but now, reneging on its promise, the number of women has been drastically reduced by changing the eligibility criteria. Despite this, the state government has not yet been able to give any clarity on the provisions of the budget to fulfil its promises.

Anurag Thakur and all the other office bearers present took part in the signature campaign against the DE notification of the institutions opened during the BJP regime by the Congress government.
