Anvay Madhukar Naik murdered his mother Kumudini Madhukar Naik by strangulating her at his farmhouse on 05/10/2018. He later wrote a suicide note stating that Arnab Manoranjan Goswami, Firoz Mohd Shaikh, and Nitesh Ghanshyam Sarda be responsible for his death and later committed suicide by hanging himself self from the roof.

The shocking details were revealed in the charge sheet filed by the Raigad Police (Maharashtra Police) against Republic Media Network, Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami, Firoz Shaikh, and Nitesh Sarda.

The Charge Sheet No. 58/2020 dated  6/11/2020 was filed by the Investigating Officer JA Sheikh, who is the Police Inspector Local Crime Branch, Alibag, Raigad.

The charge sheet states: Since the deceased was not able to release the dues of his suppliers, contractors, and laborers he was under tremendous mental pressure. The said position of his was communicated by him to the three accused from time to time and in the end, even after hinting towards committing suicide, the accused replied stating ‘do what you want’ and did not release the legitimate dues to the deceased even after repeated reminders and hence are responsible for the downfall in the mental and financial position of Anvay Madhurkar Naik and forced him to commit suicide.  As a result, the deceased Anvay Madhukar Naik decided to commit suicide. At this point in time, the deceased also realized that his mother Kumudini Madhukar Naik who is also the partner in the Company might have to face difficulties on financial matters and as a result the deceased Anvay Madhukar Naik firstly killed his mother by strangulating her at his farmhouse located at Kavir, Taluka, Alibag on 05/05/2018 and later wrote a suicide note stating that the three accused to be held responsible for his death and later committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof.”

However, while the Raigad Police claim to have pursued its course of investigations and have found out that Anvay Naik strangulated his mother before writing a suicide note and then committing suicide.

The question of Anvay Naik’s suicide note and its content raises some pertinent questions because if Anvay Naik did strangulate his mother than his ‘suicide note’ states the following:

“We are committing suicide due to following: Our (Concorde Designs Pvt Ltd) We both directors Mr. Anvay M Naik and Kumud M Naik, money is stuck and following owners of respected companies are not paying our legitimate dues.”

The ‘suicide note’ further states: “Kindly collect money from them & hold them responsible for our deaths and pay to creditors”

Anvay Naik murdered his mother, wrote suicide note and then committed suicide: Maharashtra Police Charge Sheet - Anvay Naik, Arnab Goswami, Maharashtra Police, Republic Media Network

Throughout the suicide note, Anvay Naik refers to ‘We’ and ‘Our’. He, it appears is referring to two people committing the act of suicide. The ‘suicide note’ is signed by Anvay Naik only not Kumud M Naik.  So clearly Kumud M Naik did not commit suicide but was murdered. The Raigad Police charge sheet clearly states that Anvay Naik strangulated his mother before writing the suicide note and committing suicide.
