On Thursday, 20 more people died in the poisonous alcohol consumption case, in the Saran district of Bihar, where alcohol is prohibited. With this, the total number of people who have lost their lives stands at 50 now. 13 people are still undergoing treatment, out of whom 11 have lost the capability to see. After this incident, waves of sadness have been hitting Mashrakh, Isuapur, Amnaur, and Madhora. People’s anger because of the administration’s failure, which is being believed to be the primary reason of the deaths, is also coming out in the open.

Hundreds of villagers and the relatives of the dead have also protested outside the police station on the state highway at Amnaur, with the dead body. The family members of the dead are of the opinion that the local police were forcing them to cremate the body after stating the reason of the death to be cold. After this, the people jammed the state highway, and after 2 hours of cajoling the bereaved, they agreed to disperse.

The people of the Madhora village stated that on Tuesday, a groom’s wedding procession had reached the village, and in the same wedding party, some men had drunk alcohol. Out of those who had the alcohol, most soon complained of not feeling very well. It has come to the fore that the family which was involved in this illegal liquor business fell prey to the same poisonous alcohol as well.
