Kolkata: Saluting the people of Karnataka for their decisive mandate in favour of change, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday iterated that “brute authoritarian and majoritarian politics is vanquished”.

Stating when people want plurality and democratic forces to win, no central design to dominate can repress their spontaneity, Banerjee said, “That is the moral of the story, lesson for tomorrow.”

The Congress juggernaut literally mowed down the saffron brigade in Karnataka, wresting power from the BJP to be in the saddle.

According to the Election Commission, the Congress has crossed the majority mark.
