Cong is like rusted iron kept under rain: Modi

Bhopal: In a sarcasm-laced blitzkrieg against the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday compared the party with rusted iron placed under a downpour as it neither possesses vision nor comprehends the nation’s interests.

Addressing the BJP’s Karyakarta Mahakumbh at Jamboree Ground in the capital of election-bound Madhya Pradesh, the visiting dignitary alleged, “The Congress – with motives of dishonesty and corruption – simply does not boast any idea for the future, is disseminating negativity, abhors change, always sang praises of a single family, altered democracy to dynasticism, fed corruption and thrives in paucity.

The indigent had to extend their hands for alms during the rule of the Congress, which did not fulfil its ‘garibi hatao’ slogan issued decades back. Even the meagre benefits of schemes percolated only to vote banks. It kept the populace entangled in seeking food, clothing and shelter.

The Congress lambasts each and every project associated with Bharat’s development. You will recall the manner in which it opposed Digital India, criticised ultramodern expressways, Vande Bharat trains, rejuvenation of stations, the bullet train and the new Parliament building.”

The Congress openly ruined Rajasthan and became part of an alliance in Maharashtra in order to make loot its work, the Prime Minister alleged.
