On Sunday, July 23, the owner of the social media platform, Twitter, Elon Musk, in an announcement, revealed, that soon, the iconic blue bird logo of the platform will be bid adieu to, as a new logo is set to replace the bird, which has been synonymous with Twitter for many years now.

Taking to Twitter, Musk said, ‘And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds. If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make it go live worldwide tomorrow.’ And while the company has still not responded to the enquiries seeking clarification, Musk posted an image of a flickering ‘X’ on Twitter, without providing any further details.

It was in October 2022 that billionaire Elon Musk had acquired Twitter, and since then, the company also underwent a name change to X Corp, reflecting his ambition to develop a ‘super app’, similar to China’s WeChat. The Twitter website emphasizes the significance of the bird logo as their most recognizable asset and expresses a strong sense of protection towards it.

Earlier, the bird logo had briefly been substituted with crypto-currency Dogecoin’s Shiba Inu dog in April, resulting in a remarkable $4 billion increase in the meme coin’s market value.
