A shocking crime has come to the fore from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. 4 members of a family were brutally murdered, including a six-month old infant, and their bodies were set on fire. The crime took place in the Cherai village of the Osian town. The killers murdered the four individuals by first slitting their throats with an axe, and then dragged the dead bodies to the courtyard, and set them on fire. This happened on Tuesday night, July 18.

One of the killers has been identified as 19-year-old Pappu Ram, who is a relative of the deceased, and has been arrested by the police. And while the police are interrogating Pappu, it is also being tried to recover the murder weapon. On Tuesday night, after the villagers saw smoke coming out from the murdered family’s house, they informed the police. As per the police, Pappu Ram murdered the family over a personal property dispute.

And while the BJP has slammed the Congress government of the state, led by CM Ashok Gehlot, and has highlighted the ‘law and order crisis’ in the state, the ruling party’s own MLA from Osian, Divya Maderna, has raised questions on her own party and government, and stated, ‘I wanted to raise this matter in the assembly but was not allowed to speak.’

She also mentioned how she herself was not safe as she has been attacked even under police protection once, and the assailants have still not been arrested.

She further expressed, ‘The Rajasthan assembly, on Tuesday, passed a bill to ensure strict action against organized crime, and today, this incident has come to light.’

Maderna also raised questions on the Jodhpur IG, Jaynarayan Sher, and remarked that such incompetent officers should immediately be removed from the field and made to sit in the PHQ.
