Raigad: Members of the foreign delegation who arrived in the district to observe the Lok Sabha General Election on Tuesday visited different polling stations in Pen and Alibaug taluka, participated in the celebration of democracy, and experienced the election voting process closely.

Two representatives of Bangladesh in the foreign delegation, Mohammad Moniruzzman T, GM Shahtab Uddin (Bangladesh Election Commission Officer), two representatives of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Abdirov, Aybak Zikan (Central Election Commission Kazakhstan), Sri Lankan Silaya Hilakka Pasilina (Director Sri Lanka), Justice Prisheela Chigumba of Zimbabwe, and Simbarashe Tongai (Central Electoral Commission Zimbabwe), all seven members participated in the poll inspection tour.

They interacted with polling officer staff, health nurses, and health workers regarding information about SVEEP activities for voters and first aid at the polling station to increase the percentage of voters.

For the last two days, they witnessed a demonstration of how elections are conducted in Indian democracy.

They especially appreciated the loyalty and honesty of the election system towards its work.

This year, the Election Commission of India (ECI) organised the International Election Visitors Programme (IEVP) for international cooperation and participation with election management bodies (EMBs) of other countries.
