Panaji: Congress on Sunday demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant must make public details of people recruited through Prime Minister Rojgar Mela.

“Rojgar Mela organised on the birthday of Home Minister Amit Shah is another Jumla. I urge Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to make public details of persons from Goa who were given Letters of Appointment,” Goa Congress President Amit Patkar said in a statement.

He was reacting to the Rojgar Mela function organised by the government in the state on October 21 wherein few candidates were givel Letters of Appointment.

“Educated youths in Goa want to know about the selection process adopted for selecting candidates in various departments to whom letters were handed over by Union Minister Shripad Naik and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte. Let Goans know details of all the selected candidates,” Patkar said.

“I have come to know that some persons are recruited for Poastal Department. What has happened to the seven postmen who were suddenly retrenched from services after working for 8 to 10 years,” the Congress leader questioned.

He claimed that who were working on contractual basis have now been given letters of permanent appointments.

“If this is true than it is not giving jobs, it is just regularising the services,” Patkar pointed out.

“Government must tell the educated unemployed youth in Goa, when, how and who selected the candidates. Let Chief Minister post the information on social media platforms and release in media. Let facts be before people,” Patkar said.
