The technique of face recognition has been adopted in the airports of the country, which has been named as ‘Digi-yatra’, and this will prove to be good news for all those who prefer travelling by air. With the introduction of this facility, up to 40% of the travellers’ time will be saved, and the hassles of security checks will not have to be dealt with. The Digi-yatra app has to be installed for the same and the user will have to be register on the same.

Travllers will get the option of Digi-yatra at the time of booking their tickets only, after choosing the option, the user will have to fill in the details of any one of their IDs like Aadhar card, voter ID card or passport. Post the registration, these details will get stored into the system of the CISF, responsible for the airport’s security. After this, the traveller will receive a Digi-yatra ID, following which, every time a user books a flight ticket, they will have to use this ID.

Once the traveller reaches the airport, they will have to enter the PNR number on the machine installed at the Digi-gate, after which the camera on the Digi-gate will start operating and will scan the face. In order to reap the benefits of Digi-yatra, one does not have to register again and again. A user’s face can be recognized after entering the registration number just once. All the details of the traveller will be available in the system of the airport from where they will start their journey. And within 24 hours of the journey, the details of the traveller will be deleted.
