IOC announces order of presidential presentations of seven candidates

Geneva: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the order of the presidential presentations of the seven candidates at the meeting of the IOC membership on January 30, 2025.

The drawing of lots to determine the order was conducted by a Lausanne-based public notary on Tuesday, the IOC announced, and the order will also be used consistently in all official documents subsequently.

The order is: HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein (president of Jordan Olympic Committee) David Lappartient (president of the Union Cycliste Internationale) Johan Eliasch (president of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation) Juan Antonio Samaranch (vice president of IOC)

Kirsty Coventry (Zimbabwean swimmer and Olympic gold medalist) Sebastian Coe (president of World Athletics) Morinari Watanabe (president of the International Gymnastics Federation).

“This process ensures fairness and transparency as the candidates outline their visions for the

future of the IOC,” IOC said.

The election for the IOC presidency will take place during the 144th IOC Session in Greece on

March 18-21, 2025.

The new President will succeed Thomas Bach, whose term ends in June 2025.
