Jain school in Gujarat charges no fee, gives 6 lakhs on completing studies

There is one such school in the country, which does not charge a fee from its students or their parents, and during 6 years of studies, all the facilities from food to residence are free of cost. Along with this, advance honorarium of up to 6 lakh rupees is also given to the students who have completed their education here. This 125-year-old institution is the Mehsana-situated Shrimad Yashovijayaji Jain Sanskrit School. The first student of this school which was established in the year 1897, was Yognishth Shri Buddhisagar Surishvarji Maharaj. Till now, a total of 2850 students have qualified from this institution, out of whom, 220 have chosen a life of complete restraint.

While 36 students from this school have reached the Bhagwant Acharya position. The students have settled in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Prakash Bhai Pandit from the institution says that every year, 30 students get enrolled in the school, and no fee is asked for from the students, their parents, or their relatives. During the students’ studies, the institution gives them 5 thousand rupees per month. 1 lakh rupees are given to those who complete 4 years of studies, and 2 lakhs to those who complete 6 years of studies, which is different from the honorarium given every month.

Those who complete special studies, along with law and grammar, receive an honorarium of 3 lakh rupees. Many students have received honorariums of up to 6 lakhs. For the students to receive all sorts of knowledge, there is also a library with 12 thousand books. The students are taught by former students of the institution.
