J&K: IED detected, defused on Bandipora Sopore road

Srinagar: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which was detected on Bandipora-Sopore road was defused on Saturday morning by security forces, officials said.

The suspected IED was found at Ashtangoo area in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir by a joint team of security forces who were sanitizing the highway early today.

“A bomb disposal squad was called in and IED was defused in a controlled manner,” a security official said.

The traffic on the highway which was suspended after detection of suspected IED has been restored.
