Kochi: The normally attached compliment to Kerala is that it is the most literate state of India. But if an example were to be made of its Health Minister K K Shailaja, it would raise the question whether some Keralites are ‘Literates’ but ‘Uneducated’.
In an interview with BBC talking about the success of Kerala in containing the coronavirus spread in the state, KK Shailaja refers to Goa as ‘Union Territory’ and states that there are no sufficient hospitals in the Union Territory of Goa.
Goa became of state of India on May 30th, 1987. Goa will complete 33-years of statehood in 2020.
It is shocking that the Health Minister from the ‘Literate’ state of Kerala is uneducated and misinformed about a simple general knowledge about Indian states and Union territories.
Such Ministers are a joke! You have raised a valid point, literare and educated take a whole new meaning and contradiction in cases of politicians.
It is a shame for my state that she made such a big mistake purposely, and it was not a tongue slip…
