Mandavia visits Janaushadhi Kendra in Panaji

Panaji: Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandavia along with Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar and G20 delegates visited a Jan Aushadi Kendra in the city on Tuesday.

During the visit, Mandavia explained to delegates the model of Pradhan Mantri Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) and how it is benefitting the common people by providing quality & affordable medicines.

Later, speaking to reporters after visiting a Jan Aushadhi Kendra in the city, Mandavia said,” Generic medicine is very cheaper than the branded medicine. Pradhan Mantri Janaushadhi Scheme is now a successful model.”

He said India is ready to extend support to any country if they are interested in starting such a scheme.

He said the delegates showed eagerness to launch the scheme in their countries as well.

Earlier, the minister distributed food baskets among the TB patients at AB-Health and wellness center, Corlim, in North Goa district.

As many as 180 delegates from 19 countries have arrived in the coastal state to attend G20 meetings.
