Russia ready to facilitate Gaza settlement- Dy Foreign Min

Moscow: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, in a conversation with Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow Abdel Hafiz Nofal, reaffirmed Moscow’s readiness to continue political and diplomatic efforts to end the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

On August 8, the Russian President’s envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Palestinian Ambassador Nofal at his request.

“During the conversation, the main focus was on the state of affairs in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone. The Russian side reaffirmed its readiness to continue political and diplomatic efforts to swiftly end the bloodshed and provide necessary humanitarian assistance to the affected residents of the Gaza Strip,” the ministry said.

It said that during the meeting, the sides also discussed strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Palestinian cooperation.
