The verified users on Twitter, with its blue tick, may now have to pay rupees 1600 every month to maintain the same, as the social media platform’s new owner, Elon Musk, has hinted towards changing the policies of the verification process or the process through which a profile receives the blue tick. Nevertheless, official information regarding the new process has not been issued yet.

What happened was that a user tweeted and asked Musk as to why he did not have the blue tick despite having a large number of followers. Answering whom, Musk hinted towards imposing a fee in lieu of the Twitter blue tick. As per a report from The Verge, users may have to pay 19.9 dollars or around 1640 rupees every month for the Twitter Blue subscription. The accounts which are already verified will have to get the subscription within 90 days, or else their blue ticks will be removed.

Twitter’s board of directors has also been dissolved and as per the securities filing, Musk has become the only director of the company.
