Vidhan Sabha election dates announced for 5 states

The dates for the state assembly elections for 5 states, which are, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Mizoram, and Chhattisgarh, have been announced on Monday, October 9. The polls in the said states will be held over the months of November and December. As per the announcement of the Election Commission, this time too, the elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram will be held in 1 phase each, and the Chhattisgarh polls will take place in two phases.

The Mizoram State Assembly Election will be held on November 7, while the state polls in Chhattisgarh will take place on November 7 and 17. The Madhya Pradesh State Assembly Election will also take place on November 17, with polls in Rajasthan to be held on November 23. Lastly, the Telangana elections will take place on November 30. The counting of votes for all the 5 states will take place on December 3.

There are a total of 679 Vidhan Sabha seats in the 5 concerned states, and 1 lakh 77 thousand voting stations have been prepared for the upcoming polls. 60 lakh new voters are preparing to cast their votes for the first time in the wake of these state polls, with young officials taking the charge in more than 2900 polling stations across the 5 states.
