A fake currency note racket has been busted in Gujarat’s Surat by the police. The gang’s leader, Vikas Jain has been arrested by the police along with 5 others. Vikas belongs in Rajasthan’s Jaipur. Till now, fake notes worth rupees 316 crore 98 lakh have been recovered from the accused, out of which, rupees 67 crores are made of the old notes of 500 and 1000 rupees, in use before demonetization. These notes were being sent by an ambulance. The police have labeled it to be an international racket of fake currency notes.

The accused had got printed, ‘movie shooting purpose only’ and ‘Reserve Bank of Indi’’ on the notes. Police have told that the accused do not have any relations with the movie industry. The objective of movie shooting was imprinted on the fake notes to steer clear of the law, so that the police could be fooled.

As per information, Jain had opened up branches with the name of ‘VR Logistics’ all over the country, through which the notes were transported. Its branches were opened in Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh as well. It has also been determined that counterfeiting is done showing these notes.
