Washington: US President Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will have a chance to sit down for a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy later this week to discuss support for Kiev amid the ongoing onflict with Russia, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby said on Tuesday.

“On Thursday, President Biden and President Zelenskyy will sit down to discuss our strong support for Ukraine, now and into the future, and following that meeting, both leaders, President Biden and President Zelenskyy will participate in a news conference,” Kirby said during a press briefing.

Since April, the United States has announced six packages of military assistance to Ukraine after US President Joe Biden signed a bill providing about $60 billion in new funding for the country.

The G7 summit is set to take place in Italy’s Apulia region from June 13–15.
