Demanding dismissal of Minister Israil Mansuri Oppn. stages dharna in Bihar Assembly

Patna: Demanding the dismissal of Bihar Minister Israil Mansuri in connection with a murder case, the opposition staged a noisy dharna in the well of the state legislative Assembly during a pre-lunch sitting of the house.

As the house assembled for the day, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly Vijay Kumar Sinha, with the permission of the speaker demanded a reply from the government in connection with the murder of one Rahul Sahni under Kanti police station area in Muzaffarpur district.

He said the entire paper of the related murder case was given to the chief minister in the house and now the government should make a reply on the issue as the mother of the deceased Manju Devi was sitting in the police station.

He said Manju Devi was being threatened for the murder of her son-in-law too just like his son was killed. Sinha said the minister of the Bihar Government Israel Mansuri’s name has been involved in the murder and the government should not reply to it.

Meanwhile, the speaker Awadh Bihari Choudhary took up the question of our proceedings protesting which the opposition demanding dismissal of the Minister trooped to the well. The speaker however said that the reply on the issue would be made at an adequate time.

Leader of the Congress legislative party in Bihar assembly Ajit Sharma while asking supplementary on his short noticed question said that how the opposition was disrupting question hour, strong action should be initiated against them. The speaker requested the opposition to resume their seats however the entire opposition walked out of the house.

When question hour was in progress the opposition came back after which with the permission of the speaker the opposition leader Vijay Kumar Sinha again raised the matter saying that the bereaved family was suffering and the Chief Minister even after assuring action did not initiate any action.

He said that by misusing his post, the Minister concerned did not let his name be figured in the FIR and demanded the dismissal of the Minister as he was threatening the family.

To this, the speaker said that the government was looking into the matter and would initiate suitable action. He also asked the parliamentary affairs minister to take notice of the incident on his own.

BJP MLA Nandkishor Yadav insisted that the government should inform the house about the time for making a reply as the matter had been raised earlier on the floor and the chief minister himself had taken notice of it.

Intervening in the situation Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar said that the opposition was setting a new trend as they walked out of the house and then came back on their own and raised the same issue which was against the rules and regulations. He wanted to know whether the house would function according to rules and regulations or under the pressure of the opposition.

The speaker too said that the opposition walked out of the house without any reason and came back even without being asked for and maintained that such trends would not be allowed. He said that the house would function as per the rules and regulations. He said the matter was being investigated and the house would be duly informed about the outcome of it.

The opposition in support of their demands continued to create noise and entered into the well where they sat on dharna along with the leader of the opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha. The opposition was seen conducting a parallel sitting in the Well of the house making Bhagirathi Devi their speaker.

The entire enlisted business of the house continued amid noise and slogans shouted by the opposition from the well till lunch break.
