Panjim: Nine passengers on a Mumbai-Goa train that arrived on Sunday have tested positive with COVID-19 infection taking the tally of active cases in Goa to thirty-one.

Most of the cases were detected during the rapid testing. Samples have been sent to the Goa Medical College (GMC) Virology Lab for confirmatory tests.

“Out of 350 samples, 70 samples are still pending to be tested. Goa is working hard in increasing its testing facilities and keeping Goa safe,” expressed Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.

Goa is seeing a sudden surge in imported cases being detected at the border or at train stations.
