Hawker arrested in Mumbai for molesting woman

Mumbai: Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested a 40-year-old hawker for allegedly trying to grope a woman commuter in a local train near Kurla in Maharashtra.

The 23-year-oldvictim was scared and didn’t share her ordeal at home. But her family members noticed that something was amiss with her.

After she finally narrated her traumatic experience, the family along with her approached the police and lodged a complaint.

She was able to help identify her abuser which helped the police in arresting him.

The police arrested hawker Arif Siddiqui from Kurla station and the victim confirmed him as the attacker.

Siddiqui has been remanded to judicial custody till September 26.
