Bengaluru: The Equipment Depot at Air Force Station Bengaluru celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) here on Friday.

Air Commodore Manoj Kumar, Air Officer Commanding, and Abha Sharma, President of the Air Force Families Welfare Association (Local), were the chief guests at the event.

The event commenced with a talk on the importance and health benefits of practising yoga, its historical origins in ancient Indian philosophy, and its effectiveness in ensuring overall health and physical fitness.

During the yoga session, air warriors and their families performed various yogic kriyas followed by meditation exercises. The session included simple yogic kriyas that can be performed at home without the supervision of a yoga instructor.

The session concluded with a Sankalpa (resolution) and a prayer.

In his concluding address, Air Commodore Manoj Kumar highlighted yoga’s special role as a remedy for lifestyle-related disorders and urged all personnel and their families to incorporate yoga into their daily routine.
