Srinagar: The picturesque ski resort of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to host the second leg of the Khelo India Winter Games 2025 (KIWG) from March 9 to 12.

The event, originally scheduled from February 22 to 25, had to be postponed due to a lack of snow in Gulmarg. However, the recent snowfall has set the perfect stage for the much-anticipated winter games.

“Gulmarg is ready! With fresh snowfall and full preparedness, the J&K administration and Sports Council are set to host the 2nd leg of #KIWG2025 from March 9 to 12. A world-class winter experience awaits!” J&K Sports Council said in a statement.

Over one thousand athletes, coaches & officials are expected to participate in the four snow sports events, including ski mountaineering, alpine skiing, snowboarding, and Nordic skiing.

The Union Territory of Ladakh hosted the first phase of the Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG) 2025 from January 23–27, 2025. The games were held at the NDS Stadium in Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Ladakh topped the medal tally, and the Indian Army retained the men’s ice hockey.
