Hyderabad: Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao has strongly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comments, deeming them shocking and ill-informed.

Taking to Twitter, KTR expressed his disappointment, saying, “I am deeply dismayed by Prime Minister @NarendraModi ji’s comments regarding the formation of Telangana state. This is not the first instance where the PM has made disparaging remarks about Telangana’s formation, and it reflects his utter disregard for historical facts.”

KTR emphasised the significance of Telangana’s statehood, highlighting that the people of Telangana had tirelessly fought for six decades to achieve this momentous milestone, which was finally realized on June 2nd, 2014. He acknowledged the countless sacrifices made, particularly by the youth of Telangana, during the statehood movement.

Refuting the Prime Minister’s suggestion that Telangana did not celebrate its statehood, KTR stated that such a claim was not only factually incorrect but also displayed ignorance and arrogance. He further criticized Prime Minister Modi for using opportunities to criticize the Congress party, which has repeatedly hurt the sentiments of the people of Telangana.

KTR stressed the importance of political leaders in significant positions approaching sensitive historical matters with empathy and understanding. He urged them to consider the deep emotions and sacrifices associated with such issues.
