Nagpur: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday announced a SIT probe into death of Disha Salian, manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was himself found dead in June 2020.

The announcement was made after BJP MLA Nitesh Rane alleged the involvement of the Shiv sena leader, Adidtya Thackeray.

Rane also demanded a narco test of the Shiv Sena leader.

The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly witnessed five adjournments with ruling dispensation demanding a re-investigation into the case saying that the Mumbai Police was under pressure from the previous Thackeray-led MVA government.

When the house reassembled, the Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that there would be a SIT probe into the incident and the probe would be free and fair.

Reacting to this, Aditya Thackeray said “our country has never witnessed such low standard of dirty politics in particularly in respect of a departed soul”.

Disha Salian(28) had reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the 14th floor of Galaxy Regent building at Malad in the far western suburbs of Mumbai on the intervening night of June 8-9 2020. Her death had taken place five days prior to the dead body of Sushant (34) whose body was found at his rented duplex flat in Bandra in north-west Mumbai on June 14, 2020.
