Washington: Former US Vice President Mike Pence has filed paperwork for the 2024 presidential run, the Washington Examiner reported.

According to the report, Pence thus officially joined the Republican primary field to challenge ex-President Donald Trump for the nomination.

Pence, whose announcement comes over a month after Trump announced his re-election campaign in November, is the second Republican to voice his intent to run in 2024.
